Ant Hire Case Study

Ant Hire Solutions is an independent, family-run business based in north Yorkshire, specialising in equipment and solutions for the Utility sector.
We were approached by Anthire back in 1996 with a concept for creating a preformed shuttering system for use in the construction of manhole bases. Anthire found that we provide a comprehensive service from concept to production. The convenience of our in house pattern and mould making facilities means between us we had full control of the project. They required a product that would be strong enough to withstand the rental market and construction works as well as being light enough to be manually handled.

Each invert section from 375mm to 1800mm diameter over 90degrees had to be manufactured from handmade patterns with the tightest of tolerances to guarantee faults weren’t to be repeated in the casting process. With testing we were able to create a product strong enough to withstand the immense weight of concrete yet be light enough to be manually handled into position at the bottom of a manhole. Our goal was to create a product that would be longlasting, and some of the original sections we made are still on hire and used on construction sites around the country today.
We are continuously working with Anthire Solution’s development team to keep their hire equipment at the fore front of their industry by applying the application of new and improving manufacturing process’s.
