Here at Acorn Glassfibre, we don’t just work onsite… Our most recent project took us over the pond to Switzerland and in this blog, we are going to be discussing the job at hand.
The purpose of the trip was to create an artificial cave for one of our main customers, Hangfast Ltd who we have completed many projects with over the years. We were asked to quote and ultimately manufacture the cave but after speaking to the customer about transportation to site and installation we ended up quoting for this as well. We liaised with the customers and other contactors on site to work out the perfect plan for the project.
We travelled to Switzerland by van, using a ferry to get us over to Amsterdam and then driving from there. As we wanted to be as efficient as possible, we carried over half of the cave in the van, meaning we could get started straight away and arranged for the rest of the cave to be delivered when we needed it.
The cave was designed by Hangfast Ltd to meet their specifications, but we were able to offer a wide range of rock finishes that were geologically accurate, making it look as life like as possible whilst blending in with the landscape around.
Because of forward planning, we were able to complete the project quickly and effectively, whilst giving the customer another long-lasting product that was made to their requirements. We set off on Sunday night and returned Saturday morning to Newcastle – another job well done!
